Unwind and tighten the skin with the new Guinot Lift Summum Facial

The Lift Summum treatment

Last week, to cram in a bit of chill amongst the school holiday madness, I went to check out the new Guinot Lift Summum Facial, which is launching at Chamomile Sanctuary next Thursday 25th.  I love going for a facial and for me the benefits of relaxation are just as appealing as the lovely tightening and TLC.  There is something wonderful about having lashings of lovely products smeared over the skin.  I struggle with a bit of dehydration on my skin, perhaps something to do with residing in Bonny Scotland, so I adore the feeling I get at the end.  It’s a bit like coming out of the dentist after a good scale and polish – extremely satisfying.  I still get asked about Botox but I’m worried I would become addicted to it and, whilst I have noticed a few fine lines, they honestly don’t bother me that much.  It’s a personal choice though.  I get facials for the following reasons –

  • They are super relaxing and feel amazing.  They help me chill out (that’s my kind of mojo injection).
  • They give my face a lovely glow and hammer lots of hydration into my skin.
  • I always feel rejuvenated at the end of a facial and my skin feels amazing to touch.
  • I love a good detox and facials are great for this.
  • I often forget to exfoliate my face so if I go for regular facials I know I can get a good blast and undo some of the damage.
  • Facials and massage in general is great for our circulation and blood flow.
  • Dark under-eye circles, under-eye puffiness, or crow’s feet are given a little love.

The Lift Summum treatment was designed by the team at Guinot to firm and smooth the delicate skin of the face, neck, and chest (often the first areas to show signs of aging).  The Lift Summum facial shows instant results, as it is is a fast-acting treatment which removes dead skin cells, redefines the face contour, and restores radiance –  all in just 50 minutes.

To me, the facial didn’t feel rushed and I was properly chilled at the end of it.

My lovely therapist, who could talk knowledgeably about skincare all day long, started off with a double exfoliation.  I was then treated to a lovely massage.  It was at a fairly fast pace, but I found it really satisfying.  She used mahogany bark extract to improve skin elasticity and help counteract slackening.  The next phase embeds hyaluronic acid spherical fillers into wrinkle grooves. The fillers then rehydrate and inflate to fill the wrinkles.  Botox move over!  The final phase involves a lifting mask.  I was then left to relax for 10 minutes in a trance.  The only thing I would change would be a nice head or arm massage instead at this point to add to the pamper.  I would definitely recommend this facial (it would make a great gift for someone too) and I felt amazing at the end of it, as did my skin.  I slept really well that night.  The next day I took a detox from makeup and let those products sink in for extra impact.
