Eating out – Discount Code for Hot Flame at the Livingston Designer Outlet

Over the weekend, I was invited to check out the Hot Flame in the Livingston Designer Outlet Mall. I really like the designer outlet, it has a bit of everything and of course a cinema (we were finally going to see Incredibles 2).

I’ll be honest, I am not normally a huge fan of a buffet style restaurant, but I had heard amazing things about the quality of the food and the staff.  When we arrived, there was a huge queue at the door, which is always a great sign.  The team at hot flame want to challenge the preconceptions of this kind of restaurant.  When I think of a buffet restaurant, I assume there will be lots of frozen, pre-prepared, deep fried and microwaved dishes.  I was in for a pleasant surprise – the food is FRESH.

There was a huge selection of dishes, made fresh with local ingredients, skilled chefs (the sushi guy is unbelievable). It was really interesting to meet the team and hear about their approach and ethos to healthy eating and food waste.  They run a slick operation and are clearly very passionate about the service they provide.

Another plus for us is that we didn’t have to wait for food (the kids are like me and get HANGRY).  The service was really quick and any plates we were finished with were cleared right away.  On top of this, the entertainment for the kids was excellent and Bonnie loved the hot flame banter.  She was mesmerised by the juggling and knife throwing.  A circus trip and a restaurant in one, bingo!

The food was fantastic with a huge selection of local ingredients, skilled chefs (the sushi guy is unbelievable).

She also tried sushi for the first time and LOVED her Sunday roast.  The homemade yorkies are fantastic, I am drooling just thinking about it and dipping them in some gravy.  Hubs was impressed by the Chinese, which is his fave type of food to cook at home, and I thought the Indian was better than the last takeaway we had.  Really tasty and not too greasy either.  Charlie’s highlight was the dessert bar, I mean there was Haribo and plenty cake. I was too full for cake as the main courses were so good.  Also – the haggis starters – bang on.

Hot Flame have very kindly offered a 15% off Dinner deal (5pm onwards), Monday to Thursday for the next fortnight which you can claim by quoting the code HFJF001MT.  Send me a selfie and enjoy X
