I’m still in total shock in terms of all the messages I have had and all the support. All I can say is thank you SO MUCH for encouraging me with this vision. No more shame, it’s time to encourage open and honest discussions around lifestyle and mental health. It’s time to get the mojo back oh and to turn the music up loud!
First off – to those who have asked that don’t use itunes, you can also find the podcast by clicking here on Acast.
The podcast shall be updated with a new episode every Sunday night to give you a little mojo boost for going into Monday.
I am so delighted to hear that episode one (meet the family) has already helped so many (and made you laugh too which is a bonus). It took a lot of guts for that Hubs of mine to be so open about a previous gambling addiction. As I said on Monday at the launch – thoughts and behaviours that pull us away from our mojo DO not define us. Thoughts of self doubt, addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, fear, jealousy, rage – whatever it is – it DOES NOT define you. We are all equal, we all have a bit of mojo magic in us but some days we need to start by turning the volume down on the inner critic in us.
On episode one, we also discuss a number of lifestyle and mental health issues, including our own experiences of that beast we call depression impacting our families and how we have dealt with things. Whilst it can be easy to get caught up in the stats and the news, there is hope and sharing and supporting each other adds to that hope.
Of course, you can also find the podcast on the podcast app/itunes here and shortly on spotify. Please keep the ratings coming so more people can find it. Episode two shall be available from Sunday night and it was an honour to welcome the super funny and humble YouTube sensation that is Beauty Creep for some serious straight talking about anxiety, kindness, signs from the universe (we go deep) and PMT/hormones. There is no filter and it’s a cracker.
Thanks to the lovely Petit Fernand for sending me some fab mugs for my guests (and the customisable stick-on name labels).
The stick-on labels can be completely customised, with our 32 backgrounds, 9 fonts and 100 illustrations to choose from. We went for the butterfly for Bonnie and the fox for Cheeky Charlie.
Back to the podcast – I want to thank everyone that came to support me on Monday. I want to thank everyone who has commented, sent me messages, flowers, cards, emails and left ratings. Thank you SO much. I want to thank everyone who has recorded with me so far and everyone who is booked to come on. Thanks to everyone who has expressed an interest in coming on too. I also want to thank the lovely Wagamama for sponsoring the podcast launch. It was an amazing evening. The food and drinks, the team and general atmosphere. Mindful eating is huge right now and it’s wonderful. I have a whole chapter in my book dedicated to it and Wagamama is the first place I used chopsticks, after my brother pulled my fork off me. It changed the experience – for the better.
The vibes were in full mojo. Thanks also to very talented Vicky Watson Photography for taking some wonderful photos. I can’t wait to share them all and tag all my wonderful guests across social. Here are a couple of sneak peeks. Passion fruit beer – yes baby!
This is just the start of a very exciting journey. I had no idea that a podcast I recorded in my kitchen would have such an impact already but it has. This stuff matters. We are all so much more similar than we think and seeing mental health as a sign of weakness is SO last decade. It’s time you got your mojo back x
