‘While we have got some time and energy, it seems sensible to Shine’.

Factoring in time for a little self care helps me to Shine. Let’s be good to ourselves, let’s fall in love with being ourselves and stop waiting on other people to rescue us. Self care can become part of our ‘to do’ list each and every day, like brushing our teeth. A hot bath alone, blasting our favourite tunes, lighting that luxury candle we got last year that is gathering dust. Looking in the mirror and being kind, taking some time out to exercise for the body and mind.
After the dreamy Age Summum facial the talented team at Chamomile pampered me with, full review here it’s a goodie, I was super keen to trial out some more Guinot love and of course giveaway some self care via Mummy Jojo. I only do a giveaway if I think it will put a huge smile on your face and this 100% will.

Chamomile Sanctuary is a place I love to go when I am in the city centre, the perfect little beauty utopia in Edinburgh’s West End couldn’t be more convenient. Tip – go for brunch first at Cairngorm coffee. The butternut, feta and sour dough is great and yip coffee hits the spot too of course. I digress.
I have found a love for Guinot. The Guinot treatment menu is so impressive at Chamomile, this is a brand that prides itself on remaining at the forefront of both machine-based and manual treatments. Over 40 years ago, Guinot introduced to the world the first machine-based facial which uses galvanic and high- frequency technology, known today as the award-winning Hydradermie². The team are constantly adapting and developing their product and treatment formulas.
The Age logic facial is SOOOOOO good. I loved every minute. Well almost but I shall get to that shortly. The treatment is 90 minutes long and was just what my mind and my skin needed. This Advanced Anti-Ageing Treatment is clinically proven to improve wrinkle depth by up to 49.5%*, the anti-ageing Hydraderm facial focuses on the eyes, face and neck to target signs of ageing.
The facial uses Guinot’s Hydraderm machine combined with plant extracts and massage to restore the skin’s natural beauty. Tailored products are specially chosen (I am huge on products that hydrate my skin ) in order to treat specific conditions such as dehydration (me), pigmentation and ageing (laughter lines are always a sign of loving life/shining).
My face and neck was gently cleansed and exfoliated and specifically chosen gels were applied, before a mild galvanic current was used across my face to allow the active ingredients to penetrate collagen deep into my skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
This High frequency action, which is not painful, is then used to eliminate impurities from the skin. The treatment finishes with a soothing mask and then the delicate eye area and the face and neck are moisturised. It’s a lovely treatment and it also remimded me of how much I need to stop and slow down. You see, once my mask was applied I was left to relax for about 7 to 10 minutes. I found it hard to switch off. I am like a cat, I like to be stroked and I find it hard to lie still unless I am asleep, in a meditation class or ready to fall asleep. This is something I need to work on. I need to work on being still. I need to work on being in the moment and lying happily with my own thoughts with no book, no phone, no podcast – you get me.
One thing is for sure though – my skin was glowing.
